Date of Dream: 03/19/2008
In my dream, I saw a woman dressed in Monk’s garb. She looked part Caucasian, part Asian, with short, greying hair. She was standing across the street from me (approximately 20 to 30 feet away), and she was holding a round piece of polished metal. If looked like it could be used as a mirror, but I didn’t see my reflection in it. It wasn’t shiny. Instead it was dark, almost black. And she held it in front of her solar plexus, almost as if it were a reflection of a dark emptiness .. a reflection of her inability to feel.
I recognized the woman as someone I’ve heard people describe as “the woman who tries to curse you.” I watched her for a few moments by myself, then Mary walked up to me. Leaning towards Mary, I pointed out the woman saying, “Look across the street. There’s that woman people say puts a curse on you.” As if hearing us, the woman put down the sheet of mirrored metal, and started to move her arms. I found myself mesmerized by her movements as I tried to interpret what she was doing.
She moved in a kind of dance. It was if she were a Hawaiian hula dancer, talking with her hands, telling her story through them. I quickly realized that she wasn’t cursing us, but instead telling us her story through a beautiful, but strange kind of pantomime. It was a sad story. A story of love lost, abandoned, because of the life she chose. And the love she lost was for another woman.
I remember becoming sad as I watched her story unfold. I felt mournful because she never had the love she truly desired. I then turned to Mary and said, “she’s not cursing us. She’s telling her sad story of not being able to love a woman.” And then the woman stopped her song-dance. She picked up the mirrored sheet of metal, and turned, and slowly walked away.
Possible meaning of Dream:
Could she be a representation of all those women and perhaps even men, who love those of their own sex, but who also love God? And perhaps they have chosen to shut off their feelings, and never love for fear of losing God?
UPDATE: July 16th, 2011
I was in “Himalaya Gifts” in Davis, CA and looking over their DVDs when I received a prompt from my Guide (tingling along the side of my head), and asked if they wanted me to see something special in the DVDs. I then looked to my right and there was a picture of a woman looking back at me that looked just like the female monk in this dream! Her name is Pema Chodron, and she is a Buddist Nun. Absolutely amazing! She came to me in one of my dreams! Of course, I purchased two of her DVDs, and plan on listening to them right away.
[...] is very fascinating about the DVDs by Pema Chodron, was that I saw her in a dream back in September 2010. I have never heard of Pema, but while looking through a rack of DVDs at [...]
