Female Voice

It was around 3:30 AM this morning, Mary had just gone into the bathroom to get ready for work, and I was in the kitchen getting breakfast ready, when I heard an audible female voice. It sounded like it said, “Hon”, and it had come from the living room (about 10 or 15 feet from me), and not from the bathroom (the voice was not muted). Thinking I was hearing things, though, I ignored it.

About 30 minutes later, I knocked on the bathroom door to give Mary her coffee, and after taking the cup from me she said, “Did you say ‘Hon’?”.

Shaking my head “No”, I replied, “I heard it, too.” (Which seems to be the answer we give each other whenever we hear an audible ghostly voice in our house).

“Did you hear me say, ‘What?’”, Mary continued. “I heard, ‘Hon’, and thinking it was you I said, ‘What?’”.

“No, I didn’t. I heard it, too, but thought I was hearing things. I remember thinking, did I just hear a voice, but for some reason I discounted it.”

Mary nodded her head, “It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything, and I just thought it was you.”

“No, it wasn’t me. Do you think it was the television in the bedroom?”, I suggested.

“No, I can’t hear the t.v. right now, and I’m standing outside the bathroom just feet from it.” Mary added.

In agreement, we both went back to getting ready for work.
