Constant Companions

Yesterday, Mary and I visited her cousin who has recently been diagnosed with Renal Carcinoma (cancer of the kidney).  Trying to help her get her mind off this very sad news, we took her to lunch and then spent the rest of the afternoon window shopping in Old Auburn.   Other than seeing the “ghost cat” movement in the cousin’s bathroom (see my other entry for today under “Movement”), the day was turning out to be paranormally uneventful; that is until we got to Old Auburn.  About 50 yards from the car, my Clairkinesis started firing off (Clairkinesis is the ability to feel when a spirit is near).  For me this comes in the form of a tingly, static electricity feeling around my face and head.  It’s kind of a cross between the static you feel when you pull a towel out of the drier that didn’t have a drier cloth, and the feeling you get when you take an antihistamine and it starts to work (causing that tingly feeling in the top of your head).   Anyway, this started happening almost as soon as we hit the first building in Old Auburn.  And at first I thought a former resident decided to hang out with us.  But then it would come and go, and I soon figured out that it left when Mary’s cousin would walk to another part of a store, etc., and would resume when she moved up next to me.

Putting two and two together, I decided that her family members that have passed may have been hanging out with us, too, trying to comfort her and keep her spirits up.  She lost her husband a few years ago to cancer, and her mother died from Diabetes complications just recently.  So it would not surprise me if they were there helping her, too.
