Ghost Cat

Yesterday, Mary and I took the day to visit her cousin who lives in Northern California.  We visited in her condo for a while, and then just before leaving to go get lunch, I excused myself to visit the restroom.  As I was relieving myself, I saw something move across the bathroom floor … something I’ve seen in the condo before.  I thought in the past that it was her cousin’s dog that died a few years ago, but now I am convinced it was the previous owner’s cat.  Why?  Well, because when we returned to the condo after our afternoon out together, I visited the same bathroom, and the same thing happened again, only this time I felt the “cat” rub up against my leg.  I also saw the shag rug she has on the floor press down in one spot, as if a cat’s paw was walking on it.

Oh, for an explanation as to what I saw …. It was like a disturbance in the air.  If you saw the movie “Predator”, then think back to how the predator looked when he had his special suit on. You couldn’t see him unless he moved, and then if you looked closely you could see a disturbance in the scenery where he was at.  It just didn’t look right.  Well, that’s kind of what I saw .. a disturbance near the floor .. a kind of wavy movement.  Another analogy is the heat waves that come off a hot pavement.  Both are kind of what I’ve seen.  And I’ve seen this before in our house.  I’ll be looking towards the kitchen and see a “figure” move across the kitchen, disturbing the air around it.  Its hard to describe .. except to use the heat wave and “Predator” analogies.  If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly recommend doing so, just so you can get an idea of what I’m trying to write about.
