Accident Avoided

Last Thursday, December 3rd, I had something very intriguing occur. As I was leaving work I noticed that I had a message on my phone, and decided to listen to it as I was walking to my car. The message was really strange, full of static, and I couldn’t make out what the caller was saying. I tried listening to the call three or four times, and finally gave up and checked my “missed calls” log to see who had made the call. There was no record of the call! Thinking that was a bit strange, I continued on my way to my car only to find it wasn’t where I had parked it.

I looked up and down the parking lot, trying to remember if I had parked it in a different stall. No, I distinctly remember parking in a particular area. By this time I was delayed in leaving work by about 10 minutes, and still hadn’t called Alicia yet (I call her and talk with her every day on my way home from work). So I dialed her and said, “Hi Babe, I’m sorry I’m late in calling you, but I can’t find my car!”

“What? Do you think someone stole it?”

Still looking around the parking lot I replied, “I hope not. This is really weird! I know I parked my car in this area, yet I can’t find it.”

“Do you think maybe you parked in a different spot this morning? I mean, it was foggy”, suggested Alicia.

“No, it wasn’t so foggy that I couldn’t see where I was parking. No, I know where I parked.” Then I spied my car. It was on the opposite side of the parking lot, facing the opposite direction! “There it is! All the way over in an area I never park in! This is really weird!”.

I then walked over to my car, got in, started it and proceeded to drive to the parking lot exit. As I reached the exit I looked down to my right and saw flashing lights at the intersection. “I see flashing lights. Oh, god! Oh god! There was a bad accident! Oh god!”. I turned onto the street and headed towards the freeway on ramp, and saw a Suv turned upside down in the middle of the intersection. The accident had just occurred!

“Wow, Babe, it sounds like your angels may have purposely delayed you, to keep you from the accident!”, exclaimed Alicia.

“I know! Do you think my car was moved? And the strange message I had on my phone, too; both caused me to be delayed at least 15 minutes”. Alicia and I then spent the remainder of my drive home discussing the events, coming to the conclusion that something very unusual and yet wonderful had happened.
