About Us

Alimar Paranormal was created by us (Alicia and Maria Perry) as a place to post the evidence that we are gathering through investigations and personal experiences.  In this blog you can find samples of some of our better EVPs, captured through digital audio recordings, and through the radio sweep technique (Ghost Box).  Also included are videos of our investigations, EVP collections, along with pictures of unexplained phenomenon, and blog entries detailing dreams, visions and OBE experiences we are having.

Services We Provide:

  • Investigations:

If you feel you may be experiencing a haunting, and would like an investigation, please contact Pacific Paranormal Research Association at:

    pacificparanormal@rocketmail.com

(or check out their MySpace page at:

  • EVPs:

Sure, just about anyone can record for EVPs, but do you know how to pull them out of your audio?  Do you know how to even find them in the recording?  Alicia can show you what software you can get for free, how to use it, and how to clean up the audio clip so that it can be heard and understood much easier.  If you are interested in attending a class for “EVP Extractions”, please contact Alicia at:

    paranormal@newrain.com

  • Training:

Are you just starting out as a paranormal investigator? Would you like to learn how to conduct a professional investigation? If so, Alimar Paranormal can teach you the following:

    • How to conduct client interviews
    • How to do a proper initial walk-through
    • How to plan an investigation
    • How to determine what is and what is not good evidence
    • How to use an EMF meter, infrared thermometer, record for EVPs, pull EVPs out of your recordings, etc.
    • How to draft a proper investigation write-up
    • How to conduct an evidence review with your client
    • What equipment you absolutely need to have to do a proper investigation
    • What other “good to have equipment” is available, and how to get it
    • How to do create a “ghost box”, and how to do a proper radio sweep
    • How to clean up your radio sweep recording so others can actually understand it
    • How to use the ITC Video Water Technique to capture ghostly images (and not just a bunch of squiggly lines)

When contacting Alimar Paranormal, please include your name and any necessary contact information so we can get in touch with you.

  2. Hi Alicia,

I saw your vids on Youtube and found them very interesting. I’ve always been interested in this kind of work. Is is possible to observe during a investigation? I do want to learn how to do an investigation. This has always facinated me.

    Take care,
    GIL

  3. Hi Alicia,
I found you on YouTube when looking
for information on how spirit communication
is possible in the sweep method when your
dealing with clip broadcasts of living people.
I made myself a shack hack and would like to
know how to receive spirit communications
instead of those radio clips from the sweep mode.
    Thank you! Happy Holidays
    Darryl

    • Hi Darryl,

Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog, and for watching my videos on YouTube. In answer to your question about how to get spirit communication via a radio sweep …..

      I recommend doing the following:

      1. Give the spirits a “cue” that you are about to do a recording:

Let the spirits know that you plan on doing a sweep, and give them a specific date and time. You might even present a “cue” by playing a special song that will let them know you’re about to do a new recording. I play the song, “Change the World”, by Eric Clapton, but you can play whatever song you wish. Remember to let them know that the song is the “cue”. If you’re doing a recording during an investigation, take about 5 minutes prior to the investigation (maybe during the setup), and let the spirits know when you’re going to do it.

      2. Let the spirits know what you’re going to do:

If you tell the spirits what you are attempting to do, they will figure out how to make it work. There are many investigators that believe those on the other side use equipment, too, to communicate with us. AAEVP is a group that strongly believes this. Whether or not this is true, I don’t know, but it is an interesting concept.

      3. Be prepared:

Make a list of the questions you want to ask ahead of time. It is my experience that they like it when you come prepared. You will get a much better response if you do.

      4. Be respectful:

I was warned that if I wasn’t respectful, they would stop communicating with me via the radio sweep. So respect is very, very important. Just imagine that you are talking with a close family member or friend.

      5. Remember that the radio clips are used to create their responses:

The responses that I captured using the “shack hack” (as you call it), were actual words picked up during the sweep. I don’t really understand how the beings do it, but they somehow know how to bring up the volume on certain words and phrases to answer my questions, etc. Now, mind you, they don’t always come through, and their responses are not always easy to understand (I have done dozens of sweeps, and only about 5 or six are clear enough for me to keep).

      6. Don’t get discouraged:

If you don’t get a clear enough response, don’t give up. Keep trying. AND, don’t toss your recording until you’ve had a chance to listen to it, carefully, with a headset using an audio editing program like Audacity. I don’t know how many times I’ve thought I got nothing, only to find some very clear, exciting responses when listening with my headset and audio software (a great example of this is the radio sweep EVPs presented in our “Elk Grove” investigation). If you have difficulty hearing the responses due to static, make a backup copy of your recording and use a “high pass filter” on your working copy. That will go a long way to clear it up well enough to hear what is being said. If you need more information on what this is, let me know and I’ll walk you through it.

      Last but not least ….

      7. Separate Carrier Wave:

According to Philip Imbrogno, a scientist that is currently studying this phenomenon, there is a separate carrier wave on top of the AM band that is coming through during the radio sweep (he measured this using a oscilloscope). Sometimes I get EVPs that appear to come through on this separate wave, but not very often. These EVPs tend to be pretty cryptic, and difficult to hear. If you get this type of EVP be prepared to do some intensive cleanup to be able to make out what is being said.

That’s it for now …. Please let me know if I did or didn’t answer your question, or if you need more help.

      Take care,

      Alicia
